Today we worked on our English language grammatical and biological science skills by learning about action verbs and baby animals. Remember, that action verbs are used to describe the action of a direct object or noun. In regards to baby animals, if you have problems, please refer to the class study guide handout. Next, reminder about the class textbook. It is preferred that every student has one by next week’s class. Details about the textbook was sent out in last week’s email. If you have any questions regarding the textbook, by all means ask! I would like every student to succeed and the textbook is critical in this process. The textbook will provide the course with intensive preparation for the CogAT test. Also, if there are any homework or class work assignments that you have not turned in and is marked as a 0 and missing in the gradebook, do it! Missing assignments can have a large impact negatively on your student’s final grade in this class, which does count. Assignments that many rodents failed to complete include the online website assessment and personal introductory essay, which are both worth a lot of points! If you see that either or both of these are marked as a 0 and missing, do them ASAP to earn some credit! Furthermore, I also focus on the public speaking skills of every student, which is an important skill for the gifted program, so students presented their clock projects that was assigned last class today. The clock project grades and presentation grades are posted in the gradebook.

For this week’s homework, I would like students to log onto Teacherease.com to check their grades and to complete the online unit test for action verbs that is already avaliable for access on Teacherease.com. Every student should be able to log on by now, but if there still are problems, please let me know ASAP because this week’s homework requires being able to log onto Teacherease.com. Once you have logged onto Teacherease.com, there are several ways to access the test. The easier way is to access it on the homepage. Right when you log on, there should be an update about it and a start button. Press to the start button to begin the test. There is no time limit for the test. Just complete it by the next class. There are 50 points possible on the test but it counts for 75 points towards student’s class grade, which is what all major assessments are worth. If you have any questions or problems on accessing this online test homework assignment, please let me know ASAP, so that I can help with directions.
That is it for this week’s email. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this email.
Have a terrific week everyone!
