Gifted program prep level 1
2017-2018 School Year
2018 Summer Camp
2018 Summer Camp
1: Yesterday, in class, we had an art gallery walk for student's posters and watched student presentations. I graded students on their poster, presentation, and listening. The three grades have been entered into Teacherease. For the presentation grade, I also provided positive and negative feedback for every student if you would like to see where he/she did well and where they need to improve in terms of public speaking. I was very impressed by the amount of work students put into their posters and their amazing presentations.
Final exams were handed back, as well as other work yesterday. You may have noticed that I did not hand back the multiple choice questions from the final exam. If you would like to see those questions let me know privately.
2: As of yesterday, June 2nd, all grades in Teacherease are complete and finalized for the spring semester of 2018. A formal report card for Q4 will be handed out next week's class for reporting evaluation of progress.
3: Here is the general plan for next week's class, which is the last class of this school year (June 9th - Week 16)...
1) Student Award Ceremony - 5 - 10 minutes
2) Gifted Program Level 1 Student Ran Market (Sales and Marketing Project) - 20 - 30 minutes
3) End-of-year party - 20 - 25 minutes
I strongly recommend all parents to attend next class as it will be a fun class to close off this school year and reward student's for their hardwork.
Details about the sales and marketing project were sent out in weeks 13 and 14 update emails if you would like to refer back.
Each student will be given 20 fake dollars. Plan your product's price accordingly! Parents who participate will also be given some fake money. The student who has the most money at the end of the market will be receiving an extravagant prize!
In regards to the party, I will be bringing food and drinks for the students. If any parents would also like to share some food and/or drinks, that would be much appreciated! ALSO, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT I ASK FOR PARENTS TO LET ME KNOW THROUGH EMAIL BEFORE HAND IF THEIR CHILD HAS ANY FOOD ALLERGIES.
That is all for this week's update email. For homework, there is none other than preparing your products for the market. Also, if you have not already tooken my end-of-year survey on my website, please do so. Thank you! If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. Cheers to the student's amazing learning and the successful semester!
Also, one more thing. I am more than happy to help you decide in which class your child should take this fall and give my opinions/recommendations. You can ask me through email or during next class.
