2018 Summer Camp
Good afternoon all,
Today students learned about how to speak in public effectively and worked on their grammar skills.
Here is a summary of what we did (whiteboard images attached in this email):
1. Book report presentations (Good job to students who did it. I was impressed!)
2. Money Quiz
3. Grammar Lecture and Note Taking
4. Grammar Open-Note Test
TeacherEase is updated including the book report score. If you haven’t already received your child’s book report results paper, please see me tomorrow. I am still in the process of grading the Grammar Open-Note Test, but that score should be in sometime this evening. Please be aware that the Grammar Open-Note Test might be curved due to the fact that many students found it to be difficult.
1. Punctuation Worksheet
2. K1GP Grammar Practice Worksheet
3. Test Project: Since the final exam is fasting approaching, and I have basically taught all the content that will show up on the final exam, I would like students to do a project that will help them study for the final exam.
Students should create 10 of their own questions that cover most or all the concepts I taught. Please do not write 10 questions on on concept. There needs to be a variety of different kinds of questions. Examples: Multiple choice, free response, short answer, short essay, fill in the blank. This project can be handwritten or typed, but preferably typed so I can see his/her questions more clearly. This project is DUE tomorrow along with the two worksheets.
Tommorow is final exam review day and science day. My class’s science curriculum focuses on basic biology so students will learn about animals and their natural processes.
REMINDER: The course FINAL EXAM IS WEDNESDAY. Students should be studying a little bit everyday. Studying all at once or at the last minute is never the best method of effective studying. Studying a little bit everyday is the most effective in helping students understand and retain the content better. Usually, students who study at the last minute tend to preform less well compared to students who started preparing early. The final exam covers everything I taught, which is A LOT, so STUDY if you haven’t already started. Students who choose to start studying tomorrow should not expect to do as well as they can and preform to their full potential. I will handout a final exam review sheet to help assist finalizing the studying process tomorrow.
Here are some resources you can use to study tonight:
1. In-Class Lecture Notes
2. All handed back work
3. Handouts page on my class website: mrhansondai.weebly.com
4. Whiteboard pictures that I include as attachments in daily emails
Have a great rest of your day!
